Malvern-based CertainTeed, and its parent company Saint-Gobain North America, won three manufacturing leadership awards from the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the companies announced Tuesday.

The companies were recognized for achievements in digital network connectivity and circular economy. Additionally, one of the companies’ research engineers was recognized for their next-generation leadership.

“We are honored to be recognized by NAM with three Manufacturing Leadership Awards and grateful to work alongside so many passionate colleagues who are on the cutting edge of new innovations in our industry,” said Regan Gallo, vice president and general manager of CertainTeed Architectural Product Group. “Our team will bravely and proudly continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in manufacturing – striving to maximize our company’s positive impact for our customers and the communities where we operate while working to reduce our environmental footprint.”

CertainTeed won the Digital Network Connectivity Award for its CertainTeed FaCTory Program. The program is an initiative that improves the ability of the business to connect, store, secure, automate and display critical plant-level data flowing through the shop floor. The program, CertainTeed said, allows for real-time, cost-saving decision making that improves operational efficiency.

CertainTeed also won the Sustainability and the Circular Economy Award for its CertainTeed Siding program. That program has increased the recycling of scrap materials generated at its manufacturing facilities. The company said 99.7 percent of all raw materials purchased by CertainTeed Siding are either put into a finished product or recycled, either internally or externally. The company said it expects that number to reach 99.9 percent by the end of this year.

Saint-Gobain engineer Daniel Shrives, based in Northborough, Mass., won the Next-Generation Leadership Award for his work on projects that drive improvements in safety, sustainability, and efficiency.
