U.S. Rep. Fred Keller (R-PA) recently joined House Republican leadership and 80 members of the House Energy Action Team in a letter sent to President Joe Biden urging him to promote domestic oil and natural gas production.

“The Russian economy is heavily reliant on oil and gas revenues, and due to spiking prices could see $65 to $73 billion in additional revenue this year,” the letter said. “Each day, Russian energy sales provide hundreds of millions of dollars for Russian President Putin to wage his war.”

The lawmakers called Biden’s energy policies “anti-American” and listed multiple policy failures, including canceling the Keystone XL Pipeline, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) not approving new natural gas pipeline applications, changes to FERC’s certificate policy statement governing interstate natural gas pipeline reviews, canceling mineral mining projects, and stopping lease sales in the coastal plain of Alaska National Wildlife Refuge and the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska.

The lawmakers urged the president to reverse his policies to create a modern energy infrastructure, including reinstating President Donald Trump’s reforms to the National Environmental Policy Act, holding quarterly lease sales to encourage increased offshore and onshore oil and gas production, approving all pending liquid natural gas export applications, ensuring the continued operation of oil pipelines, and encouraging investment in rare earth and critical mineral mining and processing.
