PowerRail moving from Duryea to Exeter

PowerRail, a distributor of aftermarket locomotive parts and components, plans to move its operations from outside Duryea to Exeter.

The new 200,000-square-foot facility is more than double the size of the Duryea corporate office and distribution center. The facility will include shipping and receiving docks and warehouse space.

The move allows PowerRail to consolidate some of its headquarters and two of its manufacturing facilities under one roof. The move will take place over the next several months.

In addition, the new facility will help the company reduce its carbon footprint. It includes energy efficient electrical systems for equipment and machinery, environmentally safe powder coating, a high-efficient HVAC system, LED lighting, and environmentally friendly features.

“…we are manufacturing and remanufacturing parts and components, and we’re distributing them globally,” Paul Foster, the company’s founder, CEO and chairman of the board, said. “This new facility will allow us to continue to grow and provide our customers, both domestic and international, with the quality and service they have come to expect from PowerRail.”

PowerRail, founded in 2003, was initially headquartered in Wilkes-Barre but moved to the more than seven-acre Duryea site in 2006.

PowerRail offers locomotive rebuilds, overhauls, and mobile maintenance in addition to new and rebuilt rail-related parts and components.
