The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) recently awarded four grants totaling $2.5 million to a drug treatment project, a project to increase tourism and two projects that specialize in industrial revitalization and economic development.
“This grant funding will help to increase local employment levels and tax revenues – two initiatives that could greatly benefit the 46th District,” state Sen. Camera Bartolotta (R-Greene County) said. “The funding is truly an investment in the future of southwestern Pennsylvania.”
The Detox Unit at Monongahela Valley Hospital was awarded $500,000 to renovate approximately 9,100 square feet on the seventh floor. The space will be converted into a 14-bed in-patient detoxification unit.
The Ohio Riverfront Industrial Development was awarded $1 million to redevelop and remediate a 40-acre industrial site and to construct a 250,000-square-foot high-tech manufacturing facility.
Atlas Metal Revitalization was awarded $500,000 to refurbish and upgrade bridge milling machines and to purchase machinery.
Liberty Pole Spirits Racetrack Road Expansion was awarded $500,000 for the purchase of land that will become a whiskey distillery campus.
The Office of the Budget administers the RACP grant program. The purpose of the program is to fund regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects.
RACP projects cannot obtain primary funding under other state programs.
