Cadence, a health care and life science company, plans to expand its Cranberry Township location.

The Product Realization Center will be expanded by 21,000-square-feet. Work is underway and is expected to be completed in March.

By the end of 2022, the facility also will include an additional Class 7 cleanroom. Cadence offers certified cleanroom manufacturing at two of its facilities.

Cleanrooms are used during the manufacture of commercialized medical devices and undergo certification for compliance and robust cleanroom practices. In addition, certified cleanrooms require on-going environmental monitoring and maintenance.

“Everything lined up so well for this expansion to take place, and we are thrilled to be able to grow and support our customers’ requirements,” Mark Carper, director of operations at Cadence’s Pennsylvania facility, said. “The growing team in Pennsylvania is very excited about the opportunity to expand our facility.”

In 2013, Cadence opened the Pennsylvania medical and surgical device facility. The facility offers supply chain management of finished medical devices, sterilization management, certified cleanroom manufacturing, final assembly, and final packaging and labeling.

Founded in 1985, Cadence is headquartered in Staunton, VA, and employs 500 people. It also has locations in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Wisconsin. The company serves multiple industries including medical.
