The Kraft Heinz Co. recently completed its purchase of Assan Foods from privately held Turkish conglomerate Kibar Holding.

“Assan Foods makes high-quality sauces and tomato products that we believe fit perfectly into our International Zone’s growth strategy focused on Taste Elevation, and expands our presence in a part of the world that holds tremendous long-term opportunity for our company and our brands,” Rafa Oliveira, Kraft Heinz International Zone president, said. “We’re excited to officially welcome Assan Foods employees to the Kraft Heinz table.”

Headquartered in Istanbul, Assan Foods has been a certified Kraft Heinz production partner since 2019. It was founded in 1998 as a Kibar Holding investment in the food sector and manufactures and sells a wide range of products that are sold as private labels and under brands such as Colorado, Kingtom, and Oba.

Products include mayonnaise, pasta and meat sauces, ketchup, and tomato paste. Assan Foods has manufacturing facilities in Balikesir and Izmir, Turkey.

The purchase allows Kraft Heinz to further build its retail and foodservice businesses in the Middle East, Europe and Africa. The company has committed to growing its food and beverage brands on a global scale.

Kraft Heinz announced the deal on June 11.
