Manheim-based Fenner Precision Polymers, a reinforced polymer technology company, recently purchased Lumsden Corp., a manufacturer of industrial conveyor belting and wire cloth for the quarry and mining industry.

The purchase will allow the company to expand into new belting markets, strengthens its position as a supplier of highly specialized conveying products and introduces new opportunities like metal screening.

“Lumsden is not only a respected leader in the belting industry — and one that greatly adds to our product portfolio — it is also a longtime Lancaster institution, with a presence here of more than 45 years,” Jack Krecek, Fenner Precision Polymers divisional managing director, said. “Precision Polymers is looking forward to adding the Lumsden operations to our portfolio of businesses in Lancaster County and we warmly welcome all Lumsden employees to our family.”

Lumsden Corp. has three major brand categories: Hoyt Wire Cloth, Wiremation Conveyor Belting and Flexx Flow. It produces products used in a wide variety of applications including mining, glass treating, printing, heat treating, food processing, and canning.

Fenner Precision Polymers is a Michelin Group company. The purchase also helps support Michelin’s growth objectives in markets other than tires.

Fenner Precision Polymers’ product lines are used in a variety of industries.
