Indiana company purchases Pittsburgh manufacturer

Indiana-based Patrick Industries, a component solutions provider for industrial markets, recently completed its purchase of Pittsburgh-based Tumacs Covers, an equipment manufacturer, for an undisclosed amount.

Tumacs manufactures canvas frames, custom designed boat covers, and bimini tops for marine original equipment manufacturers and dealers. It has manufacturing facilities in Pennsylvania and Indiana as well as a distribution and service center in Michigan.

“The Tumacs team and I are very pleased to join the Patrick family and continue the legacy of the business my family founded over 60 years ago,” Bob McCall, Tumacs president, said. “We look forward to partnering with Patrick and leveraging their resources and relationships to promote long-term growth. Patrick’s emphasis on exceeding the expectations of its customers and providing a wide breadth of high-quality product offerings is in tandem with the focus on workmanship, innovation, and service we value at Tumacs to further drive brand value.”

Tumacs Covers will operate as a stand-alone business under its brand name and in its existing facilities.

Patrick Industries is based in Elkhart, Ind. It is a provider for the RV, marine, hospitality, institutional and commercial, and manufactured housing markets.

Founded in 1959, it employs more than 10,000 employees at 160 businesses nationwide.
