Conshohocken-based Quaker Houghton, an industrial process fluids company, recently announced 15 new long-term goals for its global sustainability program based on the results of the company’s 2020 materiality assessment.

The goals align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and are grouped in four categories: innovating for a better tomorrow, protecting the planet, empowering colleagues and communities, and sourcing materials responsibly.

The company is committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2030 and net zero emissions company-wide by 2050. Quaker Houghton operated in more than 25 countries.

“These commitments demonstrate Quaker Houghton’s dedication to driving innovation and delivering a sustainable future for the public, our customers, and our business,” Michael Barry, company chairman, president and CEO, said. “We have an opportunity to create meaningful progress that benefits future generations and helps our customers keep pace with the demands of a changing world. I am extremely proud of our global team and the goals we have set forth today.”

Company goals include increasing ethnic diversity in the United States to 25 percent to 27 percent; reducing the company’s use of fossil-based raw materials by 30 percent; and
reducing waste to landfill, hazardous waste, and water per ton produced by 20 percent each.
