Evoqua Water Technologies, a leading provider of mission-critical water and wastewater treatment solutions, plans to open a sustainability and innovation hub to advance the development of cutting-edge and sustainable water treatment technologies.

The Pittsburgh-based facility will serve as the company’s center of excellence for addressing emerging water trends. This includes connectivity, health and safety, and climate change. It is part of the company’s commitment to delivering excellence to its customers.

Researchers will work to enhance the company’s waste-to-value treatment systems, connected digital technologies, and solutions to address emerging contaminants, including PFAS.

“Our vision for the hub is to bring together technologies and innovative thinking, to develop solutions that will empower our customers and help them respond to today’s critical water challenges,” Ron Keating, Evoqua CEO, said. “In addition, the hub will provide a path for the future expansion of Evoqua’s products and solutions while creating opportunities for collaboration with strategic partners.”

The 18,000-square-foot facility will be located in Pittsburgh’s urban technology park, Lawrenceville Tech Forge. It will feature a laboratory, pilot testing capabilities for wastewater, and a hands-on demonstration and training area.

The grand opening is scheduled for autumn.

Headquartered in Pittsburgh, Evoqua Water Technologies operates in more than 160 locations in 10 countries.
