Malvern-headquartered CertainTeed, an innovative and sustainable building products company, recently opened a new manufacturing facility in Quakertown, Bucks County.
The site in Quakertown Borough will retain 533 positions statewide and create 45 full-time jobs over the next three years. The company plans to invest approximately $8 million in new equipment and leasehold improvements.
The company will manufacture STONEfaçade, a stone veneer system made with concrete, at the facility, which will increase production capacity for the product by 10.
“We’re excited to bring our new STONEfaçade products to more customers around the country, and we’re grateful for the continued interest in and support of our business from our home state of Pennsylvania,” said Joe Bondi, CertainTeed Sidings Product Group vice president and general manager. “We’re excited for the future of this innovative, game-changing, American-made product.”
The Department of Community and Economic Development submitted a funding proposal for $22,200 for workforce training, $90,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits to be distributed upon the creation of the new jobs, and a $200,000 Pennsylvania First grant.
CertainTeed was founded in 1904 as the General Roofing Manufacturing Company. It is a Saint-Gobain subsidiary and manufactures siding, railing, drywall, roofing, and other exterior and interior building products.
