Advanced Acoustic Concepts, LLC, undersea warfare (USW) solutions provider, recently announced it will expand its Lemont Furnace engineering and production facility in Fayette County.
The facility is located in University Business Park. The company will invest $1.2 million to expand its main building and consolidate all local operations. The expansion will add more than 30,000-square-feet and retain 120 current positions and create 36 jobs.
“This expansion will enable Advanced Acoustic Concepts to further grow its existing operations serving the defense industry,” Frank Gall, Advanced Acoustic Concepts vice president and general manager of Pennsylvania operations, said. “The Pittsburgh Regional Alliance and the Governor’s Action Team have been invaluable in helping our company remain in the local area and provide positive employment and growth opportunities for the community.”
The Department of Community and Economic Development submitted a funding proposal for a $60,000 grant for workforce training and a $121,600 Pennsylvania First Grant.
Headquartered in Hauppauge, N.Y., Advanced Acoustic Concepts manufactures integrated USW systems, sensors, weapons, and trainers.
Customers include the U.S. Navy. Development and manufacturing of technologies for the U.S. Navy are conducted at the Lemont Furnace site, Advanced Acoustic Concepts’ largest facility.
