PPG recently purchased Cetelon Lackfabrik GmbH, a German manufacturer of automotive and light truck wheel applications coatings, for an undisclosed amount.

“The strategic acquisition of Cetelon will allow PPG to further build upon its existing coatings product portfolio, liquid and powder coating technologies, and color matching capabilities,” Rebecca Liebert, PPG executive vice president, said. “Cetelon’s long-standing and established customer relationships will be complementary to PPG’s existing customer base and global presence and will allow us to continue to deliver industry-leading solutions and drive growth within the transportation industry.”

Cetelon’s sales offices and production facilities are located in Ditzingen, Germany. It serves wheel suppliers worldwide and employs approximately 95 people globally. Founded in 1948, it became part of the Berlac Group in 2011.

Cetelon will benefit from PPG’s global reach and its complementary product offerings, Berlac Group said.

Pittsburgh-based PPG had net sales totaling $13.8 billion in 2020. It operates in more than 70 countries.

The company also recently released its 2020 Sustainability Report. The report lists the company’s efforts to decrease its global environmental footprint.
