U.S. Rep. Susan Wild (D-PA) recently joined more than 30 of her colleagues in the Democratic Manufacturing Working Group, which will examine key issues to strengthen the U.S. manufacturing sector.
The group will focus specifically on ways to drive economic recovery amid a global pandemic to ensure manufacturers can compete worldwide and explore efforts to increase well-paying jobs, worker training, supply chain security, and environmental sustainability.
The group will collaborate with key stakeholders.
“The manufacturing economy will be a key driver of our economic recovery, and I am proud to be joining the House Democratic Manufacturing Working Group to spearhead that important work,” Wild said. “My district is home to a storied legacy of manufacturing, and we have seen firsthand the importance of investing in technology and innovation to ensure America continues to compete as a first-rate manufacturing economy. I look forward to continue championing the hardworking Pennsylvanians who make up our manufacturing sector as a member of the House Democratic Working Group.”
Reps. James E. Clyburn (D-SC), House majority whip, and Haley Stevens (D-MI) will lead the group.
Wild is not the only Pennsylvanian on the group. U.S. Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon (D-PA) also is a member.
