Sens. Langerholc, Sabatina invited to join Transportation Revenue Options Commission

Sens. Wayne Langerholc Jr. (R-Cambria County) and John Sabatina (D-Philadelphia), Senate Transportation Committee chairman and minority chairman, have been invited to sit on the Transportation Revenue Options Commission.

Gov. Tom Wolf formed the commission earlier this month to develop comprehensive funding recommendations for the state’s aging infrastructure. Yassmin Gramian, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation secretary, will serve as commission chairwoman, and members are from the House and Senate Transportation and Appropriations committees and the public and private sectors.

“We need a government that works to address the Keystone State’s transportation funding disparities, but we also need a government that lives within its means without simply imposing another tax, fee, or toll,” Langerholc said. “I look forward to working in a bipartisan manner to make significant positive reform that will yield progress for everyone in this commonwealth.”

“It’s my honor to accept the appointment to this commission to find solutions to Pennsylvania’s transportation funding crisis,” Sabatina said. “I’m looking forward to working with the other commission members, who come from a wide variety of transportation industry backgrounds.”

The commission will meet by March 25 and submit a report to Wolf on commission activities and funding options before Aug. 1.
