Georgia-Pacific recently announced it will permanently close its Lehigh Valley Dixie cup manufacturing facility in Easton, Pa., by the end of 2021.

The company also noted that it is looking to scale its efforts and create a single world-class manufacturing facility for cupmaking. As part of that plan, the company will be expanding its Dixie to Go/PerfecTouch cup manufacturing capacity in Lexington, Ky.

Approximately 190 jobs at the Lehigh Valley facility will be impacted upon closure, which about 50 jobs will be created by the expansion in Lexington.

As the Lehigh Valley facility will continue operations to support the business for the next several months, Georgia-Pacific said it is not expecting any supply disruption.
