The Partnership for Career Development (PCD) will be holding a career fair April 7-8 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex for middle and high school students.
PCD is the college and career readiness arm of South Central PA Works (SCPa Works). It serves Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Juniata, Lebanon, Perry, and York counties and works to build a system of K-12 career development. The aim is to improve workforce and economic development in south central Pennsylvania.
The My Future Way in PA Career Experience Fair will feature businesses and high-priority occupations and was developed with educators in mind. It is open only to students from school districts PCD serves.
“A career fair of this scale for middle and high school students is a show of incredible collaboration among area school districts and businesses in our region,” Lynda Morris, Partnership for Career Development executive director, said. “The event also is creating valuable time and cost efficiencies for participating organizations. The goal is to help today’s students learn about tomorrow’s in-demand careers by directly interacting with businesses.”
Interested businesses can register by contacting PCD.
The Manufacturing Next Generation Sector Strategy Partnership and a Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development grant are funding the fair.
