David Stanton to lead Harsco’s new Clean Earth division

Harsco Corporation, an environmental solutions provider based in Camp Hill, Pa., announced Wednesday that it appointed David Stanton president of its Clean Earth division, effective March 2.

Harsco recently acquired Clean Earth, a specialty waste company based in Hatboro, Pa.

In his new role, Stanton will lead Harsco’s Clean Earth division as well as the eventual combination of Stericycle’s Environmental Solutions (ESOL) business with Clean Earth, pending regulatory approvals and upon closing. Harsco entered into a definitive agreement to purchase ESOL from Stericycle earlier this month.

Stanton will be based at Clean Earth’s division headquarters in Hatboro.

Stanton has nearly three decades of operations experience, primarily in the water industry, Harsco noted. Most recently, he served as president of SUEZ’s Utility business. Before his time at SUEZ, Stanton served as CEO of an early-stage company focused on developing and commercializing advanced technology for water reuse. He has also held roles in operations and finance at Tyco International and SouthWest Water. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.

“David is a collaborative, dynamic leader who has built and led highly-performing teams and delivered significant growth throughout his career,” Harsco Chairman and CEO Nick Grasberger said. “His broad-based operations expertise and deep knowledge of the regulated water and wastewater industry align perfectly with Harsco’s environmental solutions aspirations. We are very pleased to welcome him to our team.”
