The Chester County Economic Development Council (CCEDC) announced Wednesday that its chief operating officer, Mike Grigalonis, was named president of the Pennsylvania Economic Development Association (PEDA), the statewide association for economic development in Pennsylvania.

While serving his two-year term as president of PEDA, Grigalonis will continue to serve as chief operating officer of CCEDC.

In his new role, Grigalonis will meet regularly with the leadership of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and members of the state legislature who serve on economic development committees.

He will also serve on the board of the Team Pennsylvania Foundation, a non-partisan nonprofit that works to connect private and public sector leaders to promote economic growth in Pennsylvania.

“At PEDA, I will be working closely with the Executive Committee and the Executive Director to guide the direction of the organization,” Grigalonis said. “We will dig into some organizational issues and try to make the appropriate strategic decisions on policies we’re going to implement or change.”

Grigalonis will also lead quarterly board meetings and executive committee meetings for PEDA and lead the planning of the two major conferences PEDA holds each year.

Grigalonis noted that he aims to help PEDA continue to focus on networking and educational opportunities for its members. He also said that he expects PEDA to become more involved in advocacy issues under his leadership.
