Pace-O-Matic of Pennsylvania, a developer of legally compliant skill games, recently applauded Pennsylvania’s casino industry for achieving record-high profits in 2019.
Revenue at the state’s 12 casinos grew 4.5 percent from 2018, a $146 million increase, according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. Revenue for the year surpassed $3.4 billion.
Revenue has been increasing annually for the past five years, according to the board.
“Skill games have provided a significant boost to Pennsylvania bars, taverns, fraternal clubs, volunteer firefighter halls, and many other small businesses and non-profits,” Tom Marino, Pace-O-Matic vice president of government relations, said. “The fact the growth of legal skill games has coincided with record profits occurring at Pennsylvania casinos is proof positive that our games are catering to different players and not affecting casino revenue.”
While Pace-O-Matic’s corporate office is located in Georgia, Miele Manufacturing in Williamsport manufactures Pennsylvania Skill games used in the state. The facility created more than 100 manufacturing and manufacturing-related positions.
Pace-O-Matic’s Pennsylvania Skill donated more than $600,000 last year to local charities, including senior centers, children’s hospitals, and food banks.
Revenue generated by Pennsylvania Skill has become a lifeline to fraternal clubs and organizations, including American Legions, VFWs, and local fire companies, Pace-O-Matic said.
