NueHealth recently announced that it has purchased minority ownership of the Paoli Surgery Center in Paoli and assumed day-to-day management of the facility Dec. 1, 2019.

Paoli Surgery Center opened in 1994 and serves thousands of patients annually. It offers pain management, podiatry, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, orthopedic surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, general surgery, and plastic surgery.

The center is in suburban Philadelphia’s Main Line region and is the fifth NueHealth facility to partner with Main Line Health.

Main Line Health is a nonprofit health system serving portions of Philadelphia and its western suburbs. It employs more than 10,000 people and 2,000 physicians.

“Paoli Surgery Center fits perfectly in our portfolio of greater Philadelphia-area high-value facilities,” Daniel R. Tasset, vice chairman and CEO of ValueHealth, NueHealth’s parent company, said. “Paoli Surgery Center has earned its reputation for delivering high quality of care, and we are proud to bring them into the ValueHealth family.”

Founded in 1997, NueHealth operates in more than 30 states. It specializes in creating value for ambulatory surgery centers. It has partnered with 20 health systems and more than 10,000 physician investors.

ValueHealth is a technology-enabled, market-based platform allowing bundled payment arrangements that are an alternative to fee-for-service surgical care. Affiliates include Benefit Management, BridgedCare, Healthcare Re, and Muve Health.
