ADP, a Fortune 500 payroll processing company, recently held a ribbon-cutting for its new campus in downtown Allentown, which will house 1,000 employees.

“Today is a special day for us for a lot of reasons,” Tom Perrotti, ADP president of Worldwide Sales and Marketing, said at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. “We at ADP are proud to have been a long-standing employer in Allentown and a contributor to the Lehigh Valley. We’re committed to this community.”

The new campus consolidates several Lehigh Valley offices into one central location. ADP employees will occupy the top 10 floors of the 13-story Five City Center office tower. The office will host one of ADP’s Inside Sales Centers of Excellence, part of ADP’s inside salesforce, which helps clients find the right human capital management solutions for their business needs.

The company’s expansion into the new office will support the combined retention and creation of up to 1,600 full-time jobs in the area.

ADP’s Five City Center office features redesigned seating with technology-forward work stations, an ADP medical center, facilities, and recreational and gaming space as well as other amenities, according to ADP President and CEO Carlos Rodriguez. The campus also includes a parking deck with apartments wrapped around it, another apartment building and a park.

Real estate developer City Center Allentown developed Five City Center. The company has invested $588 million in downtown Allentown and has another $100 million under development and $310 million in the planning stages, according to company spokesman Jeff Vaughan.

“Allentown is in the midst of a reinvention – one that is driven by a highly skilled workforce and a team of leaders who are committed to making the Lehigh Valley once again known worldwide as a place of wealth and success,” Gov. Tom Wolf said. “I am so proud to be here today to welcome ADP to downtown Allentown. Your arrival is a sign of how far we’ve come, and an indication of the potential we have to go even further.”

ADP is the world’s largest provider of human resources, payroll, tax, and benefits administration with offices in more than 140 countries. The company provides human capital management solutions to 810,000 companies and pays approximately 40 million people worldwide.
