Members 1st Federal Credit Union closes on property for new headquarters

Members 1st Federal Credit Union closed Friday on property in Hampden Township that will serve as its Cumberland County headquarters.

Once the headquarters is constructed, it will move employees that currently work in four buildings in the Rossmoyne Business Center under one roof. The credit union has sold two buildings in preparation for the move, and the other two buildings are for sale.

Headquarters will be located at the Hampden Marketplace on Marketplace Way. The groundbreaking is scheduled for early next year and construction is expected to take 12 to 18 months.

Members 1st hired East Lampeter Township’s Greenfield Architects for the design phase of the project and Mowery Construction in Silver Spring Township for the construction phase.

“As we approach our 70th year of proudly serving members, associates and the community, this is a very exciting time for Members 1st,” company spokesperson Mike Wilson said. “Our humble roots began in Hampden Township and the plans for the new campus allow us to remain a community partner in Cumberland County.”

Members 1st announced plans to leave Rossmoyne Business Center in February.

Members 1st has nearly 60 locations in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, and York counties. A Berks County location will open in 2020.
