Penn State Dubois to hold seminar on brand success

A one-hour seminar on brand marketing will be held Sept. 11 at Penn State DuBois, hosted by the North Central PA Launchbox and Ben Franklin Technology Partners.

The seminar, Positioning Your Business and Brand for Success in a Competitive Market, is open to aspiring entrepreneurs as well as established entrepreneurs and small-business owners. It is free, but registration is required.

Those unable to attend can participate via webinar at LaunchLINK locations throughout the state. Networking and information also will be available at each site. It also will be possible to view the webinar anywhere via computer.

Annie Hughes, director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Penn State Harrisburg, will be the seminar’s presenter. She will focus on how to identify the correct positioning strategy and competitive advantage by analyzing a business’ target customer base and competitive market.

Hughes served as director of sales and marketing at Eco Lips Inc., a small business in Iowa, and manager of disruptive innovation at Hershey Co. before becoming director of Penn State Harrisburg.

LaunchLink helps startups and tech companies tell their stories to new audiences and markets. Locations include State College, Erie, Oil City, Clarion, Harrisburg, and Johnstown.
