The Erie Federal Credit Union (Erie FCU) surpassed 60,000 members earlier this month.

Erie FCU was founded in 1936 and is open to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Erie or Crawford counties. With a home office and nine branch locations, it is the largest credit union in the northwest part of the state and is one of the top credit unions in Pennsylvania.

“This is an exciting achievement for Erie FCU,” Brian Waugaman Erie FCU CEO, said. “On behalf of our board, management team and staff, we would like to congratulate and welcome our new, and 60,000th member, Gerhard Gaiser! Serving and supporting our members and community is the foundation to our business and we are happy that you chose Erie Federal Credit Union. We hope to provide you with 5-star service for years to come.”

Gerhard is the owner and operator of Yum Yum’s Pizza in Erie.

Erie FCU participates in several financial literacy and charitable programs through its Team Acts of Kindness pay it forward initiative.

Erie FCU has assets of more than $500 million and has 178 full- and part-time employees.

The credit union paid $600,000 in patronage bonuses in January, up from $550,000 a year ago.
