Site Selection magazine recently named Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley one of the top five fastest-growing regions with under a million people in the United States.
It was also recognized as the fastest-growing region of its size in the Northeast United States for a third consecutive year.
The ranking is part of Site Selection magazine’s annual Governor’s Cup Awards, which ranks states and metropolitan regions on amount of economic investment, job creation and number of development projects during the previous year.
“The economic renaissance of the Lehigh Valley and its cities continues at a remarkable pace,” Don Cunningham, president and CEO of the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC), said. “For some time we’ve been a leader in Pennsylvania and the Northeast U.S., but breaking into the top five growth regions in the U.S. with under a million people confirms that what’s happening here is unique.”
Site Selection credited the Lehigh Valley with 25 economic projects in 2018.
“We here know what’s going on in the Lehigh Valley,” Cunningham said. “The most important part of the Site Selection ranking is that the magazine is read by leading economic development and real estate professionals and C-suite executives and corporate real estate decision-makers across the country and the world so the right people are hearing about what’s going in the Lehigh Valley.”
