Rep. Pete Visclosky (D-IN) announced Wednesday that Rep. Conor Lamb (PA-17) was appointed to be the chair of the Congressional Steel Caucus during the 116th Congress.
“America produces the world’s best steel, and southwestern Pennsylvania produces the world’s best steelworkers,” Lamb said. “I’m excited for the opportunity to lead this bipartisan group and work with my colleagues from both parties to help strengthen the steel industry to protect American jobs and American workers.”
Reps. Mike Bost (R-IL) and Rick Crawford (R-AR) will serve as vice chairs of the Congressional Steel Caucus.
The Congressional Steel Caucus is a bipartisan group of more than 100 members of Congress. Caucus members introduce legislation to support the domestic steel industry and meet with administration officials and World Trade Organization (WTO) representatives to communicate the interests of the American steel industry and its workers.
