The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau (PFB) won American Farm Bureau Federation “Awards of Excellence” in four program activity areas this week.
The awards were presented during the federation’s 100th annual meeting held in New Orleans. They were in the Advocacy, Engagement and Outreach, Leadership and Business Development, and Membership Value categories.
“The awards highlight the hard work and dedication of our grassroots farmer volunteers and organization staff, who work in unison to achieve successful outcomes and address timely issues affecting Pennsylvania’s agriculture industry and its farm families,” PFB President Rick Ebert said.
PFB also was awarded four honors by the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture.
The first award, the Apex Award, is presented to state farm bureaus that have increased donations to their foundations by at least 10 percent from the previous year.
The second award, the State Leader Award, acknowledges state farm bureaus in which when each board member has donated at least $50 to the foundation.
The third award, the Challenge Award, honors the members of three PFB committees because each member donated at least $25.
The final award, the $850 for 85 Challenge Award, honors PFB’s Women’s Leadership Committee for its donation to the White-Reinhardt Fund for Education.
