Stadium Casino, LLC, an affiliate of The Cordish Companies, presented plans to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Wednesday for a proposed Category 4 satellite gaming facility at the Westmoreland Mall in Hempfield Township, approximately 30 miles from downtown Pittsburgh.
The $150 million Live! Casino would be a 100,000-square-foot gaming, dining, and entertainment facility. It would take over space formerly occupied by the Bon-Ton department store and be part of the 1.3-million-square-foot Westmoreland Mall development. The facility would feature 750 slots and electronic table games and approximately 30 live action table games.
The project is expected to generate $200 million in annual economic impact and more than 500 permanent jobs. Construction is expected to create an additional $148 million in economic impact, including approximately 960 direct and indirect construction jobs.
Proposed plans are subject to the review and approval of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
“We look forward to working with the Gaming Control Board, Hempfield Township and Westmoreland County to create a first-class gaming and entertainment destination that will generate millions of new tax dollars and create hundreds of new jobs for the region,” Joe Weinberg, a partner in Stadium Casino, LLC., said.
