Airgas USA recently announced it will expand its Plumsteadville manufacturing facility, creating 30 jobs.
Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is headquartered in Radnor and has more than 1,400 locations. It is a supplier of safety products, welding equipment and supplies, and industrial, medical and specialty gases with more than 1 million customers and more than 18,000 employees.
Airgas will invest more than $20 million to construct a new specialty gases plant on its existing Plumsteadville property. The facility will produce custom blends and high-end pure gases.
Construction is scheduled to begin before the end of the year.
“We are pleased to expand our footprint in Bucks County and leverage the strong community partnerships we’ve developed over the past few decades” Pascal Vinet, chief executive officer of Airgas and Air Liquide executive committee vice president, said. “This new, efficient production facility will allow us to bolster our supply chain in order to reliably and safely serve customers throughout Pennsylvania, the mid-Atlantic and across the country.”
Once the jobs are created, Airgas will receive $60,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits, $31,500 in WEDnetPA funding for worker training, and a $150,000 Pennsylvania First grant.
The project was coordinated with the Governor’s Action Team.
