State Rep. Jared Solomon (D-Philadelphia) recently commended the advancement of his House Bill (H.B.) 1284 amendment, which would protect the Pennsylvania Business One-Stop Shop initiative in a statute.

The Pennsylvania Business One-Stop Shop initiative, put in place by Gov. Tom Wolf, acts as a single source to guide small businesses and entrepreneurs through planning a business, registration and permitting, hiring employees, receiving funding and technical assistance, and other stages of development.

“The Department of Economic Development has already made fantastic progress since launching the One Stop Shop website back in February, which has had nearly 20,000 visits and 1,000 calls,” Solomon said. “Before, the idea was susceptible to change with a new administration. With my amendment, though, this bill cuts through government red tape and ensures all administrations embrace the value of using this portal to enable business growth and job creation.”

H.B. 1284, originally authored by Rep. Michael Peifer (R-Pike), now moves to the Senate for consideration.
