UGI Corporation, in King of Prussia, Pa., announced Michael Sharp would take the helm of AmeriGas Propane effective Dec. 30.
“I am pleased to welcome Michael to AmeriGas, and I look forward to our reuniting and working closely together to drive performance in the business,” Bob Flexon, president & CEO of UGI Corporation, AmeriGas Propane’s parent company, said. “Having worked closely with Mike before, I am very familiar with his leadership capabilities, his thoughtful approach to business, and his ability to embrace and drive change that leads to performance.”
Officials said Sharp’s experience in physical and financial commodity management and his work with hands on operations, will bring value to AmeriGas.
Prior to joining AmeriGas, served as Vice President of Asset Management and was responsible for integrating operational and commercial aspects of the fleet to maximize its long-term value. Additionally, Sharp has held several senior leadership positions, including Chief Operations Officer at Virgin Islands Water & Power Authority, Senior Vice President of Commercial Asset Management at Dynegy, and General Manager of Commercial Generation for Duke Energy.

AmeriGas Propane provides more than 820 million gallons of propane annually to more than 1.1 million customers in all 50 states. Operating in 1,360 locations, it is the largest retail propane distributor in the United States.
