Beaver Falls-based McCarl’s, an industrial and mechanical fabricator, plans to invest $15 million to relocate its headquarters to Aliquippa.
The company purchased a 80,000-square-foot facility that will allow it to expand its pipe fabrication operations to meet customer demand. The facility will be equipped with welding booths, robotic welding machines, and other core production processes that will help decrease production time and increase output.
“This investment represents a long-term commitment to Beaver County and to the people who work here,” Ken Burk, McCarl’s CEO, said. “Consolidating our operations into a modern facility allows us to operate more safely, improve quality and efficiency, and continue delivering the level of execution our customers expect while supporting stable, long-term employment in the region.”
The project, that was coordinated by the governor’s BusinessPA team, is expected to create 130 jobs over the next five years.
The Department of Community and Economic Development submitted a funding proposal for a $2 million Pennsylvania First grant and encouraged McCarl’s to apply for the Manufacturing Tax Credit program and Enterprise Zone tax credits in the next Neighborhood Assistance Program/Enterprise Zone Tax Credit application round.
McCarl’s serves oil and gas companies and other heavy industrial clients and specializes in complex heavy industrial processes and pipe fabrication.
