Canada-based Metal Supermarkets, a supplier of small-quantity metals, recently opened its second Monroeville store.

The location, Metal Supermarkets’ 100th U.S. store, will serve the eastern Pittsburgh area, Fayette and Allegheny counties and the surrounding areas.

“Metal is metal, but we see ourselves as solutions providers,” said Wesley Wilkinson, who owns the store with business partner Jeff Foster. “Each day brings opportunities to innovate and help our customers find the material they need to keep their business up and running, repair critical infrastructure, or simply spend some time working on a hobby or home project.”

Foster has more than 15 years experience in the steel industry positions in management, purchasing and sales. Wilkinson and his father Alan also own a Metal Supermarkets store in Cranberry Township where Foster serves as store manager.

In 2020, the Wilkinsons won the Metal Supermarkets’ Rookie of the Year Award. The store also won the 2022 Metal Supermarkets Customer Service Award. Winners are selected based on local customer feedback.

Metal Supermarkets operates more than 130 brick-and-mortar stores in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. It sells a wide variety of metals including alloy steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, cold-rolled steel, copper hot-rolled steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel and tool steel.
