
In 2024, Pennsylvania American Water invested more than $675 million in statewide system improvements.
Upgrades and improvements included pipes, treatment plants, fire hydrants, pump stations, tanks, and metering equipment.
The company invested $13.6 million to install 1,038 fire hydrants and 3,165 valves; $40.5 million to install 11,651 service lines; more than $92 million to improve wastewater systems; $220.4 million to install 94.7 miles of water and wastewater main; and $583 million to improve water systems.

The company’s investment indirectly generated more than 10,125 jobs, Ladner said.
Pennsylvania American Water is a subsidiary of American Water and provides approximately 2.4 million people with water and wastewater services. Its service area includes 37 counties and 418 communities.
American Water provides more than 14 million people in 14 states and on 18 military installations with water and wastewater services. It employs 6,700 people.
