The board of governors for Radnor Township-based Main Line Health, a not-for-profit health system serving portions of Philadelphia and its western suburbs, recently appointed Edward Jimenez as the system’s next president and CEO, effective June 6.

“I am excited to welcome Ed to Main Line Health,” Steve Higgins, Main Line Health board of governors chairman, said. “His leadership, vision and unwavering commitment to healthcare excellence make him the ideal person to guide the system into the future. I am confident that Ed will build upon the strong foundation Jack has developed and the work he’s done over the past 20 years to solidify Main Line Health as a leader committed to delivering safe, high-quality, equitable and affordable care to our patients and the communities we serve.”

Jimenez replaces Jack Lynch who will retire on June 30.

Jimenez has nearly 30 years of leadership experience. He comes to Main Line Health from New Jersey-based University Hospital where he served as president and CEO. He previously was CEO of UF Health and held senior leadership roles at St. Joseph’s Healthcare System, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and University Hospital which was named, at the time, the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
