The Alberta Boilers Safety Association (ABSA) recently approved Gilbertsville-based Penflex Corporation’s made-to-stock metal hose assemblies for a Canadian Registration Number (CRN).

In Canada, each province or territory’s authorized safety authority issues CRNs for boilers, pressure vessels or fittings that operate at a pressure greater than 15 psig, or 1 barg. An CRN is a identifier signifying that the design has been accepted and registered for use in that province or territory.

“This is a great addition to our list of product certifications,” Caleb Tillotson, Penflex director of business development, said. “With these approvals, our customers meet the necessary requirements to service Canada’s oil and gas industry which is seeing record highs and is positioned well for future growth with its vast reserves.”

Penflex’s assemblies are commonly used in refinery turnaround projects. Approval gives Penflex customers operating in Canada the opportunity to bid on a wider range of projects.

The assemblies have been leak tested, hydrotested and tagged, and are stocked in multiple configurations.

Hoses are stored at the Penflex Houston warehouse in boxes or on easy-to-roll racks.

Penflex is a flexible metal piping solutions manufacturer. It offers braid, bellows and expansion joint, and metal hose products as well as services such as sales and welder training.
