Bethlehem-based B. Braun Medical, a smart infusion therapy and pharmacy products provider, recently issued an update on its efforts to secure IV fluid supplies.
The company worked closely with the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response proceeding Hurricane Milton to move 60 truckloads of IV solutions to a secure facility north of Florida.
Now the 70,000 cases are being returned to B. Braun’s manufacturing plant and distribution center in Daytona Beach, Fla.
“Events like these are why B. Braun invested well over $1 billion in the last five years to increase our capacity to supply these critical healthcare products from facilities on both coasts,” Rob Albert, B. Braun of America CEO, said. “We will continue to do everything we can, working closely with government agencies, industry partners and other stakeholders, to help ensure that providers and patients get the infusion therapy products they need.”
The company has increased the production of devices needed for infusion therapy at its manufacturing plant in Allentown, and has increased production at its IV fluids manufacturing facilities in Daytona Beach and Irvine, Calif.
B. Braun part of the B. Braun Group of Companies in the United States. The company employs 8,500 people throughout North America.
