UPMC, the second largest provider-sponsored insurer in the United States, recently named Mary Beth L. Jenkins as executive vice president.
Jenkins was also named UPMC Health Plan president and CEO and UPMC Insurance Services Division president, effective Jan. 1.
Jenkins joined UPMC Health Plan in 1998 and has served in numerous roles. Most recently she was additionally appointed as UPMC Insurance Services Division executive vice president and chief operating officer.
In addition, Jenkins has served on the board of directors for several nonprofit organizations and privately held companies, and has been a longtime volunteer for the United Way of Allegheny County.
She replaces Diane P. Holder, the current president and CEO, who will retire on Dec. 31.
“Mary Beth’s strong, strategic leadership has been a key driver of the Health Plan’s strong growth and outstanding quality awards for customer service and community outreach,” Leslie C. Davis, UPMC president and CEO, said. “Mary Beth’s forward-thinking work within UPMC’s successful integrated health care delivery system has helped ensure the Health Plan continues to offer affordable coverage while providing outstanding customer satisfaction and high-quality health care.”
UPMC health insurance companies serve more than 4 million members.
