Hatfield-based Nordic Cold Chain Solutions, a temperature-controlled packaging solutions provider, recently purchased New York-based Minus Works Inc., a manufacturing and technology company focused on the cold chain industry.
Minus Works created eco-friendly gel packs designed as an alternative to single-use plastic waste and greenhouse gas emissions in the supply chain. The gel packs are compostable and leak proof, and are paired with a proprietary freezing process that drastically reduces freeze time.
The technology aligns with Nordic’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.
“With the acquisition of Minus Works, the new facility in Pottstown, and the expansion in Reno, Nordic is taking exciting steps in our mission to offer sustainable, high-performance cold chain solutions,” Andy Bolton, Nordic Cold Chain Solutions CEO, said. “This move strengthens our ability to reduce environmental impact while delivering exceptional products and services to our customers.”
Nordic Cold Chain Solutions is expanding its Reno operations and will take over Minus Works’ facility in Long Island, N.Y. In Pennsylvania, the company is building a new manufacturing facility in Pottstown.
The acquisition of Minus Works will enhance Nordic’s ability to provide sustainable cold chain solutions nationwide and will allow it to increase production of Minus Works’ technology.
Nordic Cold Chain Solutions serves the cold chain industry.
