Malvern-based Vishay Precision Group (VPG), a precision measurement and sensing technologies company, recently purchased Germany-based Nokra Optische Prueftechnik & Automation GmbH (Nokra), a precision measuring and testing equipment manufacturer, for an undisclosed amount.
“Nokra’s laser-based measuring systems expand upon our existing KELK measurement and inspection solutions for steel and aluminum rolling mills as well as for the metal processing industry around the world,” Ziv Shoshani, VPG CEO, said. “Nokra’s systems offer customers a high-value alternative to existing technologies in the market and the acquisition dovetails with our long-term strategy to address growing opportunities for optimized production and quality control solutions.”
Toronto-based KELK also is known as Vishay Precision Group Canada ULC. It specializes in the design and manufacture of electronic measurement equipment used mainly in mining applications and steel and aluminum rolling mills.
Nokra makes laser-based measurement gauge systems that precisely measure the contour, flatness, thickness, width or 3D profile of various metals in both inline and offline production.
“We are pleased to add Nokra’s products to the VPG family,” Saul Reibstein, VPG board of directors chairman, said. “Nokra’s technologies fit well with our focus on sensor and precision measurement solutions.”
Vishay Precision Group produces sensors, weighing solutions and measurement systems for multiple markets.
