Canada-based Volaris Group, a company that acquires, strengthens, and grows vertical market technology companies, recently purchased HUSK, a Wayne-based corporate wellness provider.

HUSK will operate as a separate business unit within Volaris and will retain its brand.

“Volaris’ approach aligns well with our core values and mission to positively impact the health and wellness of the companies and people we serve,” Tony Frick, HUSK chairman and CEO, said. “Volaris has a proven track record of acquiring strong businesses and empowering existing management. This transaction provides an exceptional opportunity for our HUSK leadership team to leverage Volaris’ expertise to pursue accelerated organic and inorganic growth.”

HUSK is well positioned for future growth and industry leadership within the Volaris portfolio, the company said.

Frick has been HUSK CEO since 2017. During that time, the company transitioned from a legacy fitness business into a multi-solution, digital-first healthcare technology company.

HUSK reimagined itself into an innovative wellness technology company in a capital efficient and profitable manner, Volaris said.

Volaris Group is an operating group of Constellation Software.

HUSK provides fitness, movement, tele-mental health, tele-nutrition, tele-physical therapy, a wellness marketplace, and wellness rewards services. Its corporate wellness program and health plan serves more than 70 million people.
