PPG recently completed upgrades to its Yen Phong industrial coatings plant in Vietnam.
The upgrades expanded the capacity and included a production line dedicated to PPG AQUACRON waterborne decorative and functional coatings for consumer electronics, testing equipment and automated spray booths.
The plant now has six production lines, and the company says this will accelerate coatings development, expand customer access to technical and customer support, and reduce turnaround times.
In Southeast Asia, there is a growing number of multinational consumer electronics brands operating. PPG’s investment will allow the company to support growing demand for sustainable products.
“As a trusted supplier to global leading consumer electronics OEMs (original equipment manufacturers), PPG delivers next-generation solutions that not only enhance the durability, design and functionality of their products, but also helps these industry partners reduce their carbon footprints with coatings made with little to no solvents,” Irene Tasi, PPG senior vice president of Industrial Coatings, said.
Customers in Southeast Asia also have access to the PPG SECURE LAUNCH EXCELLENCE program. The program integrates new coating technologies and colors into customers’ production lines to find solutions that meet exact customer specifications.
The facility also produces liquid coatings for transportation applications, coil and extrusion coatings for architectural and building products, and UV-curable coatings for electronic materials.
