Earlier this month, Indiana, Pa.-based Environmental Services Laboratories, Inc. (ESL) announced it had been acquired by regulatory testing and analytical laboratory services provider, Pace Analytical Services.

As part of the acquisition, Pace will add a full-service environmental testing laboratory in Indiana, PA and three satellite locations at Montoursville, Sharpsville, and Van Voorhis. Pace officials said the move would help the company grow its national footprint.

“Pace is committed to providing every client with an exceptional experience. This starts with a team of dedicated professionals and the ability to provide clients with convenient access to our laboratories and service centers for faster results”, Pace CEO, Eric Roman said. “In 2023 we added 11 locations across the Northeast U.S. with the acquisition of Alpha Analytical Laboratories and with ESL, we are adding 4 sites to better serve the Appalachian area of the region.”

When added to the company’s existing facilities, it builds the Northeast locations to 45, and the company’s national footprint to 125.

Officials said ESL, an environmental and analytical test facility for drinking water, wastewater, soil and solids, would provide PACE with a loyal customer base.

“Elizabeth Gregg founded ESL over 35 years ago to provide quality analytical testing and sampling services,” Brad Madadian, president of ESL, said. “Through our collaboration with Pace, our clients can now gain access to unparalleled technical expertise and a diverse array of services, all while sharing our unwavering focus on client satisfaction.”

Located in the Marcellus Formation, ESL also provides customers with expertise in Marcellus Shale testing and provides clients with a team of experts on both oil and natural gas testing, state permitting and regulatory requirements. Pace officials said ESL’s experts would complement those at Pace.
