PNC Financial Services Group appoints new president

The PNC Financial Services Group board of directors recently appointed Michael P. Lyons to be president of the corporation and its wholly owned banking subsidiary, PNC Bank, National Association, effective immediately.

Lyons joined PNC in 2011 and most recently served as executive vice president and head of Corporate & Institutional Banking. The Regional Presidents Office and PNC’s primary operating lines of business will report to him.

“For more than a decade, Mike has been a vital leader in growing the firm and building expertise in service of our commercial and institutional clients,” William Demchak, PNC Financial Services Group CEO and chairman, said. “In his new role, he will be instrumental in further driving responsible growth across our franchise and strengthening PNC’s position as a leading national bank.”

Prior to working for PNC, Lyons was global head of corporate development and strategic planning for Bank of America and a portfolio manager for investment advisor Maverick Capital.

Lyons is also a member of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center board of directors.

The PNC Financial Services Group offers a full range of lending products including asset management, corporate banking, real estate finance and asset-based lending, wealth management and specialized services for corporations and government entities.
