Koppers Holdings elects MSA Safety CEO Nish Vartanian to board of directors

Pittsburgh-based Koppers Holdings, a treated wood products, wood treatment chemicals, and carbon compounds provider, recently elected Nish Vartanian, MSA Safety Incorporated chairman and CEO, to the board of directors.

Cranberry Township-based MSA Safety is a advanced safety products, technologies and solutions provider.

“I am honored to join the Board of Koppers, a company whose values align closely with mine,” Vartanian said. “It will be incredibly exciting to help the Board and Koppers leadership build upon their most recent accomplishments, and I look forward to helping to play a part in the company’s future success.”

Vartanian also is director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, Pittsburgh Branch, and serves on the boards of trustees of the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, the International Association of Firefighters Foundation, and the Manufacturers Alliances for Productivity and Innovation.

MSA employs more than 5,000 people in more than 40 international locations. Founded in 1914, the company had revenue totaling $1.5 billion in 2022.

Koppers employs more than 2,100 people and operates a global manufacturing and distribution network with facilities in Australasia, China, Europe, North America and South America. The company’s products are used by a diverse range of end-markets including the agriculture, aluminum, construction, and specialty chemical industries.
