Hanover-based Utz Brands, a salty snacks manufacturer, recently announced two appointments to its executive team, effective Nov. 27.

“I believe that these appointments will significantly strengthen the company’s ability to deliver our strategic priorities, unlock further potential and help drive our short- and long-term growth objectives,” Utz CEO Howard Friedman said.

Mitchell Arends will become executive vice president, chief integrated supply chain officer.

Cary Devore will become executive vice president, chief operating and transformation officer.

Arends is the current Kraft Heinz chief supply chain officer of North America Operations.

In his new role with Utz, he will accelerate the company’s efforts to optimize its supply chain network and capabilities, and oversee all aspects of the supply chain including planning, procurement, manufacturing, transportation and warehousing. Arends will report to Friedman.

Devore has served in a variety of senior leadership roles since joining Utz in 2016. His current position is executive vice president, chief operating officer.

In his new role, Devore will oversee large-scale transformation initiatives, scale key enabling capabilities companywide, and execute the company’s strategic plan priorities.

On Dec. 15, at Investor Day in New York City, Utz will introduce Arends and provide additional details about its supply chain optimization initiatives.
