Pittsburgh-based Arconic Corp., a provider of aluminum sheet, plate, and extrusions and architectural products, recently named Chris Ayers as its next CEO and board chairman, effective Sept. 11.
Ayers currently serves on the board of directors and has held several executive positions in businesses within Alcoa, the company’s predecessor. He joined Alcoa in 2010 and served as chief operating officer of the Cast, Forged and Extruded Products businesses, Global Primary Products Group president, and company executive vice president.
He previously worked as WireCo WorldGroup president and CEO, in several executive positions at Precision Castparts Corp., and served on the of Universal Stainless and Alloy Products board of directors.
“Having been actively involved in this company both as a board member for several years and in leading businesses from an operational standpoint prior to that, I have witnessed the remarkable agility and potential Arconic has to offer,” Ayers said. “I’d like to thank Tim for his tremendous commitment to the company, particularly in successfully leading Arconic through the uncertainty of the past several years. I’m excited to lead Arconic as we move forward in this next chapter.”
Tim Myers, current Arconic CEO, will serve on the board in an advisory capacity as lead outside director.
