The PPG Foundation invested $16.2 million in 2022, a more than $2.5 million increase from 2021.
The funding supported more than 650 community partners and programs worldwide that advance education and deliver community sustainability while encouraging PPG employee volunteerism. More than $9.1 million was invested in programs promoting leadership in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
“In 2022, we activated the power of our employee volunteers, color and paint expertise, and focus on STEM advancement to build better, brighter communities,” Malesia Dunn, PPG Foundation and corporate global social responsibility executive director, said. “From helping students thrive to aiding our neighbors in times of need, our community engagement activities supported our company’s purpose to ‘protect and beautify the world.’”
In addition, the foundation invested more than $6.1 million in community sustainability through colorful spaces, disaster and humanitarian relief, and more than $1 million to fund 87 Colorful Communities projects in 25 countries.
Since 2015, the Colorful Communities program has dedicated more than $11 million and completed 473 projects.
The PPG Foundation supports hundreds of organizations in more than 35 countries. The foundation hopes that investing in educational opportunities will help grow today’s skilled workforce and develop tomorrow’s innovators in fields related to coatings and manufacturing.
