West Pharmaceutical Services, a manufacturer of containment and delivery systems for injectable medicines, plans to invest $60 million to expand in Lycoming County.
The company will expand its current Jersey Shore facility to increase production capacity and add floor space to accommodate future growth.
It is also expanding its corporate headquarters in Exton to increase back office, administrative, and research and development services.
The project is expected to create 225 new full-time jobs in Chester and Lycoming counties within the next five years and retain 1,385 jobs statewide.
“We are pleased to continue our growth in Lycoming County, which will help support our mission of improving patient lives around the globe,” Gabe Hansen, West Pharmaceutical Services Jersey Shore facility site director, said. “West has been a long-time partner in this community, and we look forward to being able to provide more job opportunities as a result of this expansion and are excited to contribute to a continued bright future for Lycoming County.”
The Department of Community and Economic Development submitted a funding proposal for a $250,000 workforce development grant and a $1.125 million Pennsylvania First grant.
The agency urged the company to apply for the Manufacturing Tax Credit and Qualified Manufacturing Innovation and Reinvestment Deduction programs.
